Accessibility Grant Details
Each grant award included the following:
-
$20,000 grant used toward staff training, staff time dedicated to addressing access issues, and the purchase of assistive and accessible tools designed to help users overcome difficulties presented by standard tools and equipment.
-
30 hours of technical assistance from ATA or a local Assistive Technology Resource Center that included training on assistive technology tools and strategies, ensuring physical accessibility of the CTC, reviewing programs and services for accessibility issues, connecting staff to long-term resources in their community, identifying and using assistive technology tools to meet specific challenges, and learning how to use existing tools to better serve their community.
Accessibility Grant Selection Process
CTCs that attended a C4All Accessibility Institute were sent a Request for Proposals (RFP) in February 2007, inviting them to submit a proposal to CTCNet for an Accessibility Grant. Accessibility Grant recipients were selected using a competitive grant application process and notified of their award in early April.
